Marathwada dam levels fall as delayed monsoon strains water reserves
Water storage in major dams across the region has dipped to just over a third of capacity as the monsoon season lags behind schedule.
Water storage levels in Marathwada's major dams have fallen to 33.59 per cent of their total capacity, reflecting the impact of a delayed monsoon season. The dip in reservoir levels comes at a critical time when farmers and households depend on adequate water supply for irrigation and daily use.
The delayed onset of monsoon rains has put added pressure on existing water reserves across the region, which includes Aurangabad district. Water management authorities are monitoring the situation closely as the region heads deeper into the monsoon season.
